Agricultural Time-Lapse and Live Streaming Project
Lidl is one of Europe’s largest supermarket chains, known for delivering high-quality produce at affordable prices. As part of a major social media marketing campaign, Lidl wanted to showcase the journey of their fresh produce — from field to store — through stunning close-up time-lapse footage of crops growing, including apples, cherries, celery, strawberries, and raspberries.
The project required capturing detailed growth sequences over several weeks in multiple remote farm locations across the UK. Adding to the challenge, Lidl also wanted parts of the footage streamed live to YouTube — creating a transparent and engaging connection between their customers and the farmers who grow their produce.
These sites presented significant technical challenges: no reliable power, limited connectivity, and delicate filming conditions inside polytunnels and open fields. Time-Lapse Solutions designed a fully off-grid setup using our solar power kits to provide continuous energy and Starlink satellite internet to deliver live connectivity.
The result was a seamless and visually captivating campaign that celebrated British farming and Lidl’s commitment to quality and sustainability. This unique and technically demanding project perfectly captures what we love about our work — combining creativity, innovation, and technology to tell powerful stories in unexpected places.
